Lucky You

Getting Started

Installing the app, enabling the theme app embed, and getting a first campaign live. If everything is set up but nothing is showing, the theme app embed is almost always the reason.

  1. 1

    Install Lucky You

Installs Lucky You into your Shopify store and connects it to your admin so you can configure and manage your campaigns.

    How it works

    • The app only works inside Shopify Admin
    • You must be logged into the correct store
    • Access depends on your Shopify session

    Common issues

    • App keeps redirecting

Your Shopify session expired — log in again.

    • App not opening

Make sure you installed it on the correct store.

  2. 2

    Choose a Plan

A plan defines how many times Lucky You can be shown to visitors (impressions) during each usage cycle.

    How it works

    • Each plan includes a monthly impression limit
    • Impressions are consumed when visitors see or open the widget
    • Usage resets roughly every 30 days (impression cycle)
    • Annual billing is cheaper, but impressions still reset monthly
    • Plan controls capacity, not just pricing
    • Changes require Shopify approval before taking effect

    Common issues

    • Plan changed but app still shows the old one

Shopify approval or sync may take a short time.

    • Annual plan but impressions reset monthly

This is expected behaviour — billing and impression cycles are separate systems.

  3. 3

    Enable Theme App Embed

This controls whether Lucky You is allowed to appear on your storefront.

    How it works

    • The embed must be enabled inside your Shopify theme
    • Changes must be saved in the theme editor
    • This is separate from publishing your setup inside the app
    • This is the single most common reason the widget does not show
    • Toggling the embed off hides the widget immediately

    Common issues

    • Everything is set up but the widget isn't showing

The theme app embed is not enabled.

    • App stopped showing

The theme changed, or the embed was disabled.

  4. 4

    Create Your First Campaign

First run is a single page with three questions, and every one of them is already answered. It replaces the old Quick Setup / Guided Setup wizard, which no longer exists.

    How it works

    • Pick what visitors see: Spin the Wheel, Plinko, Slide, or a plain email popup
    • Pick what they win: a percentage off, a fixed amount, or free shipping
    • Pick when it opens: after a delay, on the way out, or once they have scrolled
    • An announcement bar can be added alongside — it is a second surface, not a fifth game
    • Every change autosaves as a draft, so a refresh or a closed tab loses nothing
    • A merchant who reads none of it and presses “Turn it on” still gets a good campaign

    Common issues

    • I am looking for Guided Setup

It was removed. After the first campaign is published, the campaign editor is the only place the experience is edited.

    • I left and came back and lost my work

You should not have — the page autosaves to a draft campaign. If it is genuinely gone, the draft failed to save; check your connection and try again.

  5. 5

    Turn It On

Turning a campaign on makes it active and allows it to run on your storefront.

    How it works

    • A campaign exists as a draft until you turn it on
    • Turning it on activates the campaign and prepares its rewards
    • Turning it on alone is not enough — the campaign must be running, the theme app embed enabled, and impression capacity available
    • Rewards may take a short time to become ready afterwards

    Common issues

    • I turned it on but nothing shows

Check the theme app embed and your impression capacity.

    • Changes not visible

The campaign was left as a draft, or another campaign above it matches the same visitors.
