Who Sees It, and When

Every rule that decides which visitor sees a campaign, and every trigger that decides when it opens.

Can I show a popup only on certain pages or devices?

Yes. A campaign can be targeted by device (mobile, tablet or desktop), by page type (home, product, collection, cart, or everything else), or by URL using wildcard patterns such as /collections/sale*. These three rules are available from the Growth plan.

Device, Page and URL Targeting

Can I show a different offer to new and returning visitors?

Yes. A campaign can be limited to first-time visitors only, or to returning visitors only, which is useful because the offer that converts a stranger is rarely the offer that brings a customer back. Visitor type targeting is available from the Pro plan.

First-Time vs Returning

Can I stop showing a popup to people already on my list?

Yes. Skip subscribers excludes anyone who has already given you their email, so you stop spending discounts on people you have already captured. It is available from the Pro plan.

Skip Subscribers

Can I target visitors by where they came from?

Yes, matched on utm_source. The source is remembered from the visitor's first touch, so someone who arrives from an ad and then browses for ten minutes still counts as ad traffic when the campaign is resolved. Traffic source targeting is available from the Pro plan.

Traffic Source (utm_source)

Can I schedule a campaign to start and end on set dates?

Yes. A campaign can be given a start date and an end date, so a seasonal offer activates and retires itself without anyone having to remember. Scheduling is available from the Starter plan.

Start and End Dates

Can a campaign stop itself after a set number of winners?

Yes. A campaign can end automatically once a number of winners you choose have claimed. That caps what an offer can cost you, rather than only capping how long it runs. Available from the Starter plan.

Auto-End After N Winners

When can a Lucky You popup open?

There are four triggers. On click, when a shopper opens it themselves. After a delay, once they have been on the page a set number of seconds. On the way out, when they look like they are leaving. And after scrolling, once they have read a depth you choose. On click and after a delay are on every plan; exit intent and scroll triggers are available from the Starter plan.

Open Triggers

How does exit intent work on mobile?

Exit intent fires when a visitor looks like they are about to leave. On desktop that means the cursor heading for the tab bar. On mobile there is no cursor to track, so it watches for a fast upward flick instead. Exit intent is available from the Starter plan.

Exit Intent

Can I open a popup after someone scrolls?

Yes. The scroll trigger opens a campaign once a visitor has read a proportion of the page that you choose, anywhere from 10% to 95%. Available from the Starter plan.

Scroll Depth

How can I check which campaign a particular visitor gets?

Describe a visitor — their device, the page they are on, whether they are new — and the simulator shows exactly which campaign they would be served, and why every other campaign lost. It calls the same resolution function the storefront calls, so it cannot disagree with what actually happens on your store. The simulator is on every plan, including Free.

“Who Sees What” Simulator

Is there a calendar view of my scheduled campaigns?

Yes. The calendar shows every campaign as a bar across the weeks rather than as a date field buried in a form, so you can build a Black Friday campaign in October and watch it sit in the future until it starts itself.
